![]() He tries re-assuring himself that what he did was right. "Oh at last, it is past" could refer to them actually having sex - And him not enjoying it. Finding hope in a heart-attack may refer to him hoping that that will fix the relationship. She pushes him to become intimate with her/to become sexual with her. The wind pounding on his back could be his girlfriend. Or he just wanted to spend time with his girlfriend and she, once again, wanted intimacy. He wants to fix his mistakes - Then realizing that he just doesn't feel sexual attraction. But I believe that this line may be about consent as in the chorus he stated that "if he could take it all back he would" and I thought of it as "the girl took his lack of sexual attraction as an insult" he may start the 2nd verse with trying to undo his mistake. Here, too, I've seen many people say/write that it's about him not wanting to end the relationship. I think this doesn't necessarily refer to straight up insulting the partner - Maybe his girlfriend took it as an insult when he didn't want to get too physical/intimate with her? The chorus asks for a second chance in the relationship, as he is a wreck without her love. His relationship with her is going downhill and if he could take back all he said he would. ![]() I swear that I would pull you from the tide" Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden? What if he doesn't mean motion in the physical sense - but more in an emotional sense? He wants the feelings of love to grow back. But as I believe the first two lines have a different meaning I feel different about this one too. The first two lines are referring to showing your relationship to the public cuddling or kissing out in the public and not just when you're alone. I've seen some people write about how he does want sexual closure. Maybe he's not fond of physical closure in general. Maybe he wants physical closure but doesn't want sex with his girlfriend. The "he doesn't care about how his lover touches him" could definetly be taken in a sexual way. he doesn't weigh the physical/sexual part of the relationship as much as the emotional part. "I don't really give a damn about the way you touch me Number one are, in fact, the very first lines of the song There are some lines giving me that feeling, which I'll be quoting further on. The full lyrics are available on, so there you can read the entire lyrics and make up your own opinion! :) I really recommend listening to it before reading this. But I feel like I'm the only one getting Ace Vibes off of it. I've found a lot of different interpretations for this song, most of them stating that their relationship has turned toxic & unhealthy and how the narrator (or his girlfriend) is falling out of love. Line Without A Hook is a song by Rick Montgomery. So I figured this may be a good place to speak my thoughts :D Plus I didn't know where/who to share this with. Before starting I'd like to apologize for any writing/grammar mistakes.
